Main Idea Practice

Hello!

These games will help you practice identifying the main idea in a story or passage.

Click on the PICTURE to go to each game.

Please work through the games in order. It's okay if you don't get through all of them.

In the first game, you will have 3 choices. You are looking for the sentence that describes the main idea. If you get it right, you'll be able to make a hamburger. If you're wrong, you lose a point. Be careful!

Next, there are four short passages on Benjamin Franklin. Each time, you're going to pick...  you guessed it... the main idea!!

Finally, try out these passages on volcanoes, earthquakes and floods!

If you get through all 3 activities, feel free to click around and try out some of the other games on this website! You'll find lots of fun practice for synonyms, antonyms, nouns, verbs, and more!

Lots of love!!
